- Q. What types of courses do you offer?
- A. Our training is continually evolving and new programs are created around the issues as they arise in the workplace. But the topics which are in current demand include: Customer service, diversity, sexual harassment, management/leadership skills, conflict resolution, team building, effective meetings, project management, managing change, improved interpersonal communications, stress management, marketing/sales, and time management. Our consulting is focused on organizational development, strategic planning, Total Quality Management implementation and public media relations.
- Q. How long are the training courses — an hour or a day?
- A. We specialize in half day, full-day and consecutive day training. We try to work around the schedules of our clients, to prevent down time, although we will make recommendations on what we have found to be the most productive schedules for delivering training.
- Q. What about the size of the audience — how many people can you train at a time?
- A. The ideal size for a workshop is 15 to 25, although we can adapt the material to much larger gatherings, such as conference groups. The minimum number required for training is 10, as this allows use of interaction and demonstration of techniques.
- Q. Who arranges the training site and handles logistical details?
- A. The majority of our contracts involve the client making arrangements for classroom space. We usually provide guidelines for making it more effective. If you don't have the resources to arrange logistics, Levings & Associates can handle the details and include the costs in the budget.
- Q. How do I know which instructor will provide training?
- A. Once we have concluded an assessment, your needs will be matched with the associate we feel can provide the best training. We will tale into consideration not only expertise, but speaking style, availability and background.
- Q. How can I be assured the training is effective?
- A. We reassure all new clients by providing testimonials from our recent clients and references, if needed. We also make available instructor evaluations. As far as specific outcomes, as part of the contract, Levings will offer several levels of measurement, from confidential instructor evaluations to pre- and post-testing and even 360° evaluations, which involve student self assessment, colleague point-of-view, supervisor and even the end customer.
- Q. Who are your current clients?
- A. We keep our clients confidential, unless they have given us permission to use their names for referrals. We have worked with private companies, government, educational and non-profit groups covering a range of industries, such as: healthcare, information technology, insurance, marketing communications, financial services and professional associations.
- Q. Do you do crisis intervention?
- A. Yes. In fact, that is one of our specialties. While our schedules may be somewhat tricky to navigate, we welcome any requests about crisis intervention and will do our best to accommodate your needs in our schedule.
- Q. How much do programs cost?
- A. Because most of our curriculum is customized to the specific workplace — business, organization or agency — we have no set fee schedule. Our initial assessment by phone is free, and we will usually offer ballpark budget following those initial discussions. We always provide a written proposal for training and/or consultation which will include all anticipated costs for addressing the specific needs of our client.
- Q. How do I know if company-wide training is required, or if the focus should be on just one specific department?
- A. Levings & Associates has found that customized training works best for our clients, as there really is no "one size fits all" when it comes to tackling the issues in the workplace. That's why we offer a free initial phone consultation to assess your needs. We can usually determine the needs of an organization at that point or decide if further discussions or research is necessary before making a proposal.
- Q. Can i be assured that the program will be delivered in a way that keeps my managers and employees interested?
- A. All Levings' instructor associates engage students through self-assessment and experience-based learning. Each student is also given tools to take back to the workplace. The comments included in our instructor evaluations speak volumes. They are frequently described as: enthusiastic, motivational, energetic, engaging, professional and thorough.
